In the first week of 2024, three Deputy Sheriffs, from three southern states were killed in the line-of-duty. Two of them were killed by gunfire and one was struck by a vehicle during a pursuit.

Deputy Malone was shot and killed during a traffic stop in the early evening hours on this date. Upon approaching the vehicle he was met with gunfire. He is survived by his wife and three daughters.

Deputy Eric Minix

Coweta County, Georgia Sheriff’s Office

End of Watch: January 4th, 2024

Deputy Minix was struck by a police vehicle from an assisting agency during a high speed pursuit. He is survived by his wife and three daughters.

My thoughts and prayers go out to each of these families and their respective agencies. Two women lost their husbands and six girls lost their fathers. Mothers and fathers lost their sons and many lost their friends. These lives were taken because three criminals refused to face the consequences of their actions. God bless the souls of each of these heroes and God bless every law enforcement officer protecting our nation.
